We require a legal secretary to work at our busy Peterborough based office. We specialise in criminal defence work.
Ideal candidates will have a history of working in a solicitors office or other legal environment. Experience of criminal defence work will be a significant advantage.
Candidates must be proficient audio typists with a minimum typing speed of 60wpm and will be required to demonstrate that proficiency by way of previous experience and/or specific qualifications. Candidates without this skill will not be considered.
Candidates must also be able to work in a digital environment and will have a broad knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Word, Outlook and Excel
The successful candidate will have good organisation abilities, good time management and good written and verbal communication skills. He or she will have excellent self-motivation, a positive attitude, and an attention to detail.
Managing diaries and arranging appointments, dealing with post/emails, drafting letter and other documents, maintaining filing systems, answering the phone, and dealing with queries, maintaining office supplies, complying with internal office procedures and dealing with clients in person (COVID permitting).

We represent clients at all criminal Courts from the local Magistrates Court to the Supreme Court in London. We also appear before military Courts. Legal aid is often available.
Being accused of committing a motoring offence may have devastating consequences. We have many years of experience representing clients in respect of every type of motoring offence. Legal aid may be available, if not we charge a very competitive fixed fee.
In many cases legal clients may be eligible to receive legal aid. If not we will where possible agree a fixed fee with clients which will cover all work carried out on their behalf. In some cases this fixed fee can be paid over a period of time.
