Our office remains closed with all our staff working remotely. We are continuing to deal with existing and new cases both at Court and at police stations. We have however changed some of our usual working practices as follows:
1. Telephone lines are open between 9am and 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please do not leave a message outside those hours as the line is not routinely monitored.
2. Please do not contact individual solicitors on their direct line numbers. All our solicitors can be reached using our main office number which is 01733 340666. Please do not leave messages on direct dial numbers.
3. Individual solicitors can be contacted via their individual email addresses.
As soon as Government guidelines allow and we can protect the health of our staff and clients, we will take steps to reopen our office. In the meantime we thank you for your patience.
Thank you for considering Devas Keogh James to deal with your case. We are a firm of solicitors based in Peterborough. We are a specialist criminal defence firm and deal with cases ranging from relatively minor offences through to the most serious offences such as murder. Our solicitors represent clients at Courts and police stations across the country. We have been involved in some of the highest profile criminal cases of recent years.
We have access to a range of experts, interpreters, barristers and other agencies to enable us to provide a complete service to all our clients.
We have a contract with the Legal Aid Agency that allows us to represent legally aided clients and of course we accept instructions on a private basis if legal aid is not available or a client is not financially eligible.
We represent clients at police stations across the UK, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Representation at the police station is always free. Advice at this early stage will often result in no further action being taken by the police.
We represent clients at all criminal Courts from the local Magistrates Court to the Supreme Court in London. We also appear before military Courts. Legal aid is often available.
Being accused of committing a motoring offence may have devastating consequences. We have many years of experience representing clients in respect of every type of motoring offence. Legal aid may be available, if not we charge a very competitive fixed fee.
In many cases legal clients may be eligible to receive legal aid. If not we will where possible agree a fixed fee with clients which will cover all work carried out on their behalf. In some cases this fixed fee can be paid over a period of time.
